About Me

Lawyer, Writer, Editor, and Book Coach

Since I opened for business in 2020, I’ve helped over 70 writers.

But let’s rewind. After getting an MA in Classics from Oxford (Lady Margaret Hall) in the 1980s, I went into the law. My practice was banking law, in London.

I maintained that stunningly predictable career path right up until 2018, when I decided to write my first book (‘Blind Chance’, published in 2021). I am a member of the US Author’s Guild, and of the UK’s Alliance of Independent Authors. My second book (‘Dear New Book Coach’) was published in 2025.

From 2020, I studied book coaching under Jennie Nash of Author Accelerator, gaining my certifications in fiction and nonfiction coaching in 2021.

As an editor, I keep up to date as a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and the US Editorial Freelancers Association.

If there’s one thing I know…

A writer is never ready to hand over their ideas, their pages, their full manuscript to an editor.

But the truth is, we are never “ready” for editing or coaching or brainstorming.

Are you Unready?

I know how to help you frame your ideas and express them clearly so you write a marketable book.

Would you like to find out if I can help you?

Let’s talk about your book and see if I can help you get it done.
