Oh what an amazing call we had yesterday!
I love working with people who are rockstars and you have definitely brought your A-Game to the editing piece of this book project.
I am so grateful!
Line Editing Client (name confidential until publication 2026)

In editing your work, I focus on enhancing the reader’s experience of your writing.
I call it “Reader-bility”.
I ensure your text is accurate, consistent, and correct and reflects your voice, and is appropriate for the market it is destined for.
I’m trained to edit your work
I am a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreading.
I work directly with authors, and with their teams who are project managing the book.
I undertake:
manuscript assessment and developmental editing
line editing
copyediting, and
indexing.
Click here for an explanation of the different types of editing.
I have been editing since 2020.
How this works
1. Your first step is to enquire about my availability.
2. I’ll ask you to send me a few pages of your book so I understand what you need.
3. I will edit your sample (for no charge) so you can judge the style and quality of my editing.
4. If you like what you see and the timing fits, we agree the price you will pay and delivery date of your edited manuscript.
5. I get to work.
Oh, Ruth! I loved the video walkthrough that came with my edited manuscript.
I learned so much from your logic for the edits.

How much will it cost?
My charges are based on the length of the book, what type of editing you need, and how quickly you want your edited manuscript.
I have very high standards of service, and I bring you insights and skill that clients have described as “stunning”.
My prices start at 0.04 pence per word but that isn’t always an accurate indicator of the final quote. We won’t know how much your editing job will cost until you ask, so tell me your requirements.
Ruth is a true pro, and in my experience, will follow your instructions to a “T” and improve upon them.
The Editorial Style Sheet was of particular value to me and my client.
